Born in Decatur, IL in 1975, Shin Yu Pai is a Taiwanese-American poet and visual artist. She completed graduate level studies at The Naropa Institute, before completing her MFA degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she studied with Aimee Beaubien and Joyce Neimanas. She has collaborated across disciplines with artists including Gao Ping, Larry Lee, Ferenc Suto and David Lukowski, as well as performance groups such as Hedwig Dances and theatre et al. Her work has been exhibited at The Dallas Museum of Art, The Paterson Museum, The Three Arts Club of Chicago, Harvard University, and The McKinney Avenue Contemporary. Her work has been published in Taiwan, Japan, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
